Presidential Inauguration Campus Block Party
To celebrate the inauguration of Martin A. Schmidt '81, Ph.D., as the 19th president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, we are throwing a party for the ages. All faculty, staff, students, and alumni who are going to be in town on Thursday, October 6 are invited to attend. It's all happening right in the heart of campus at '86 Field starting at noon. We will be featuring a selection of food trucks from around the Capital Region representing the diverse culinary delicacies the area has to offer. There will also be live performances and entertainment. Digital screens across campus will be streaming the Investiture Ceremony for Martin A. Schmidt '81, Ph.D., which will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Martin Schmidt earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from RPI in 1981 and he has returned to lead the university as the 19th President of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This is a momentous occasion for the entire Rensselaer community and one you won't want to miss. We hope to see you there.
